Travel to Azusa Pacific University
If you fly into LAX, your best travel options to the Azusa campus are to rent a car, take an Uber, Super Shuttle, or use L.A. Metro Transit System. The L.A. Metro Goldline train stops 1/2 mile from APU.
If you fly into Ontario International Airport, your best travel options are to the Azusa campus are to rent a car or take a taxi. UPDATE – Super Shuttle no longer services Ontario Airport. Uber does not pick up at Ontario (OIA) airport.
Arriving early? On Wednesday, June 14, registration will be available from 4-7PM in Trinity Dorm on the East Main campus. Lodging check-in will also take place in Trinity Dorm from 1:00PM until 1:00AM the following morning. Dinner will be available on-site from 6-7PM.
Conference Registration/Housing Check-in
Upon registering, you will receive a Conference Handbook, listing times for sessions and meals; a name tag; a copy of IVP Academic’s latest release in their Studies in Theology and the Arts series, Contemporary Art and the Church; and a meal card (if applicable). At this time, you will be required to complete any final payments and will be directed to your housing location (if applicable). For those participating in the Walk In Show, you will receive directions as to where to take your work.
On Thursday, registration will take place in Upper Turner Campus Center from 8:00AM until 7:30PM. (NOTE: Breakfast on each day is from 7:30 – 8:30AM, and you’ll need a meal card.)
On Friday and Saturday, registration will again be available in Upper Turner Campus Center from 8:00AM until 2:00PM.
Pack comfortable shoes for walking, business cards if you have them, soap, shampoo, hair dryer, and other personal items if you are staying in the dorm. Linens are provided for dorm residents.
Day Ahead Options
The Day Ahead Tours require pre-registration. The registration fee covers museum admission. Registration also covers shuttle transportation. The registration fee does not cover train tickets or noon time lunch. The following tours still have openings: The Broad Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The Getty Center and Museum, and the Norton Simon Museum of Art.
The Printmaking Workshop also requires pre-registration. The registration fee covers all material as well as noon time lunch in Lower Turner.
Registration for these Day Ahead Options is still available on a first come, first served basis.
The Walk in Show
Duke Alumni Art Gallery Hallway
APU West Campus
All conference attendees are invited to submit work to the MAKING NOW Walk In Show. Please note that all pieces submitted must be ready to hang, with wires on the back of the art work. For works on paper, magnets will be used for hanging. Additionally, each artist must supply labels for their work in an envelope attached to their work when it is dropped off at the Duke Alumni Art Gallery. All art works must be picked up at the end of the conference, no exceptions. During the day, this large hallway is unsecured. However, the building is secured during the evening hours.
The Late Late Show
If you would like to participate in the Late Late Show—a fast-paced, digital presentation to serve as a catalyst for conversation with other conference attendees—please register to let us know you will participate by checking the box in your registration.
