Art Department Highlights

  • CIVA|Christians in the Visual Arts was founded at Bethel
  • Bethel’s NYCAMS semester offers a program for students at Bethel and other colleges at the New York Center of Art and Media Studies
  • Bethel boasts two on-campus galleries. The Olson Gallery exhibits national and international work from artists such as Oliver Herring, Robert Birmelin, and Deborah Butterfield. The Johnson Gallery exhibits regional and student work.
  • Senior Art majors participate in two graduation exhibitions at the Johnson Gallery and at the Thorpe Building in Minneapolis as part of Art-A-Whirl
  • A high concentration of graduates continue their studies at Hunter College, Cranbrook, Pratt, Yale, U.C. Davis, U.C. Irvine, and at the University of Minnesota.
