Familiar Shapes is a selection of conceptually driven sculpture, installation, and drawing. Utilizing language, found objects, and the artist’s body, this exhibition explores associations between disparate ideas and objects. In doing so, it examines how our perspective is a collection of impressions shaped by history. Gallery Talk and Opening Reception: January 17, 2020 5-8 p.m.
ArtWorking artists celebrate Children's Theater of Madison's production of Mockingbird. This exhibit features artwork by CIVA member Alex Haunty. Alex will be the featured artist speaking after the 2 PM Mockingbird show on Feb 29. He will share a piece he is working on and also be interviewed.
The Neill-Cochran House Museum is proud to host the major history and artistic collaboration If These Walls Could Talk. The show will place ceramicist Ginger Geyer’s modern porcelain sculpture into the historic spaces of the museum. CIVA Member, Geyer, in collaboration with actor Jennifer Rousseau Cumberbatch will use the artwork as a launch pad for a series of conversations between two adolescent girls, Chlora and Ruby Virginia. The two girls, one white and one black, will highlight similarities and dissonances…
“Above / Below” features Joan Iaconetti’s watercolors of New York’s subway system paired with Joshua Benson’s images of the city’s rooftops and skylines. Opening wine reception Thursday, January 23, from 7:00 - 9:00 pm. Free and open to the public.

The Grantham Church believes that the arts are a vital part of the community’s life. That’s why every few years the Grantham Art Gallery has a show inviting Brethren in Christ artists to share their recent artwork. In the past, the gallery has displayed a variety of artwork. This includes prints, photography, paintings, drawings, quilts, jewelry, and pottery. Grantham Church wants to celebrate the creative spirit and provide space to share these gifts with the Brethren in Christ family.
