Art Department Highlights

  • Success as an artist, designer or art educator requires connecting your skills to how the art world actually works. Going to school where the art is means that Trinity art students regularly visit Chicago’s world class art resources: artists’ and designers in their studios, galleries, museums and arts organizations. On occasion Trinity students’ work has been included in exhibitions at Chicago galleries.
  • Trinity design students regularly attend AIGA events in Chicago: lectures, networking events and portfolio reviews by working designers.
  • Trinity students have interned in artists’ studios, design firms, galleries and arts organizations.
  • Our fine arts students have been accepted at top tier graduate programs. Trinity graduates are working in prominent positions in the art world.
  • Graduates of our design programs have won regional, national and international awards including a Bronze Lion at the Cannes Media Festival in 2009.
  • Our new, 44,000 sq, ft. Art and Communication Center is among the best small college art facilities in the nation.
  • Trinity’s art programs offer travel opportunities to see art in New York and Europe during our January term.
  • Our goal is to help students enter the art world, confident of their skills and knowledgeable about how the art world works so that they can bring their perspective as Christians to bear on culture.

Other Art-Related Programs

  • The Seerveld Gallery brings the art world to campus. The gallery presents a range of emerging, established and internationally recognized artists, critics and other guests on campus monthly.
  • Trinity’s Chicago Semester provides an off campus experience in Chicago with intensive internship experience.
  • Trinity supports students interested in the New York Center for Art and Media Studies.
